Ever since 1988 the Alfonso’s had existed in the heart of Schwabing, the traditional boheme and artist quarter of Munich. It was most likely one of the smallest live stages in Munich. With its capacity of just 30 people it had retained a stunning living room character.

These days, the Alfonso’s is closed permanently. Quite different bands had played themselves into the hearts of their fans. During the years, almost all our national Blues artists had been performing here, for example Louisiana Red, Abi Wallenstein, Steve  Baker, Henry Heggen, Nick Woodland just to mention a few.

Styles were mainly music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. But also fans of traditional Mississippi-Blues of the 20s and 30s got their share.
Evenings, that remain in good memory!

The Alfonso's was one of the rare places tourists often missed, but if they happened to drop in, they would tell all their friends about it.

Many returned here year by year, and also the locals loved it.

Please note:
Due to city planning, Alfonso's closed permanently by 4th of June 2017!
